The Doctor of Philosophy program focuses on research and mandates a dissertation. Students must complete at least 90 semester hours of graduate-level credits after earning their bachelor's degree. Every doctoral curriculum must incorporate a minimum of five advanced statistics and research methodology courses. Students have five years to finish their coursework. PhD candidates undertake both oral and written preliminary exams along with independent research that results in a dissertation. Individual course requirements are established in consultation with the student's primary advisor and/or academic committee.
