Biochemistry explores the chemical foundations of life, studying the building blocks and mechanisms that sustain living organisms. Researchers in this field examine core biological functions like gene expression regulation and cellular growth controlled by hormones. Understanding these molecular principles helps decipher life's mysteries and address fundamental biological challenges. The Biochemistry Department, traditionally part of the Agricultural College, offers students personalized guidance through small classes and faculty mentorship. A key feature of our curriculum is its emphasis on practical research experience and analytical reasoning. Every department student engages in faculty-supervised undergraduate research projects. Additionally, qualified students can pursue a five-year combined degree with biological engineering after gaining admission to the Engineering College.
