Anthropology stands apart from other social sciences by examining humanity through a comprehensive lens, exploring the interplay between culture, biology, history, and language. Our undergraduate program offers a robust four-field approach (biological, archaeological, cultural, and linguistic anthropology) with faculty expertise spanning diverse subject areas, methodologies, and theories to give students a firm foundation in anthropological viewpoints.
At the undergraduate level, our four-field curriculum encompasses biological, archaeological, sociocultural, and linguistic anthropology studies. Students gain practical experience through hands-on training in archaeological and bioanthropological techniques. Additionally, undergraduates can pursue a specialized Concentration in one of six focus areas within the major.
This 12-credit concentration provides undergraduates with focused instruction in archaeological methods and theories. As a core sub-discipline of Anthropology, archaeology yields vital insights into ancient societies' development, offering crucial context for comprehending contemporary global issues.
Cultural Resource Management (CRM) has consistently engaged professional archaeologists with varying educational backgrounds in private sector roles throughout its extensive history.
