The Chemistry Department offers resources for students pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree. As a dynamic and growing center of scientific exploration, it combines rich historical foundations with forward-looking innovation. Located in the state-of-the-art Frick Chemistry Laboratory, faculty and students engage in cutting-edge research where chemistry intersects with other fields. Their collaborative, cross-disciplinary work spans from discovering novel molecules and energy solutions to pioneering catalytic processes and advanced materials. At its core, the department remains committed to chemistry's fundamental mission—analyzing molecular structures and exploring their behaviors and interactions. A Master of Science degree is available to qualified industry-sponsored applicants employed by companies in the Industrial Associates Program. This flexible program offers three completion options: two academic years with full-time study for one term annually, two years with half-time coursework each term, or a hybrid approach combining full-time and part-time study across terms. For details on eligibility and the M.S. application process, please reach out to the department.
