In both engineering and creative fields, we develop innovative solutions shaped by the inquiries we make and our approaches to exploring them. Engineers expand possibilities through theoretical models, computational methods, and experimental research. Creatives redefine limits through thought-provoking concepts, unconventional perspectives, and insightful discoveries. Their combined efforts lead to transformative advancements that enhance society and human well-being. Our faculty explore, develop, and produce at the intersection of these complementary methodologies. Leveraging our connections to architectural studies and liberal arts disciplines, as an engineering program within a top-tier liberal arts institution, we occupy a distinctive position to harmonize technical engineering principles with artistic appreciation for structural beauty. Our research encompasses form-driven engineering design and structural optimization, examining the interplay between functionality, cost-effectiveness, and artistic value in architectural works, as well as conserving historical buildings through cutting-edge technologies, data analytics, and innovative assessment techniques.
