The Master of Science in Data Analytics and Visualization (DAV) program meets the increasing demand for skilled professionals like analysts, researchers, developers, designers, cartographers, usability specialists, and other data experts. Building on the School of Information's expertise in information science and human-computer interaction, the curriculum equips students to handle every stage of data processing - from collection and organization to statistical evaluation, interpretation, and presenting findings through visual storytelling. The DAV program develops versatile data specialists with robust technical and analytical capabilities alongside research, communication, and design competencies, enabling them to formulate advanced data inquiries, present information clearly through visual narratives, and craft intuitive, impactful data experiences. Students gain proficiency with industry-standard tools including Python, R, D3, Tableau, and GIS software while examining the ethical considerations surrounding data usage.
Applicants to the program must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited university.
TOEFL score of 82 (internet and home test), TOEFL ITP Plus for China of 553, IELTS of 6.5, Duolingo of 105, or a PTE of 53 is required.
