The Pittsburg State University Pre-Physical Therapy program prepares students for careers as physical therapists. This emphasis provides comprehensive education in essential subjects for aspiring physical therapy professionals. The curriculum explores diverse areas such as biological sciences, movement studies, rehabilitation techniques, and health promotion approaches. Physical therapists assess and provide care for patients across the lifespan, from infants to seniors. While many patients seek treatment for injuries, disabilities, or medical conditions, physical therapists also work with individuals pursuing general wellness and injury prevention. Our curriculum prepares learners with the foundational understanding, practical abilities, and clinical exposure required to progress toward physical therapy licensure.
Since physical therapists collaborate with patients, doctors, and therapy aides from various backgrounds, the program also emphasizes cultural awareness, effective communication, and ethical healthcare practices.
