The Electrical Technology program offers pathways to either a Certificate in Technical Competence or an Associate of Applied Science degree in electrical technology. This program trains individuals to work as electricians or technicians in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. It covers the design, development, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment. Graduates gain skills ranging from wiring single-family homes to installing complex systems in commercial buildings—including switchgear, conduits, wiring, and data networks—as well as working with industrial automated controls like programmable logic controllers, variable frequency drives, and robotics. This diverse training opens up numerous career opportunities. A key focus is preparing graduates to earn their Journeyman Electrical License and become certified electricians.
