The program equips students for careers as machinist apprentices, machinists, maintenance machinists, and CNC operators and/or programmers.
Program Learning Outcome
Technical Literacy Students will effectively communicate using the technical terminology of the machinist profession, encompassing written, verbal, mathematical, and computer competencies.
Safety Students will strictly adhere to health and safety standards affecting them personally, in the workplace, and in the broader environment.
Machining Skills Students will build a foundational skill set to operate both conventional and CNC machine tools, allowing them to produce and repair parts according to required engineering specifications.
Planning Students will evaluate part specifications, material conditions, and tooling to formulate a strategy for successfully manufacturing or repairing the necessary part.
Soft Skills Students will exhibit patience, focus, and concentration to complete job assignments safely and successfully.
