The Theater Arts Department enables students to expand their Liberal Arts background, acquire hands-on training for careers in theater, and get ready for advanced academic pursuits. Each year features two mainstage productions staged in Laney's exceptional theater space. Students can attend multiple professional shows per semester at minimal or no cost. Additionally, they may secure internships or employment with various professional theaters throughout the Bay Area. Some program participants have landed professional acting roles before transferring, giving them a head start on building their professional credentials.
The Theater Arts program provides essential training in theatrical fundamentals, helping students hone both their practical abilities and their capacity for innovative, analytical thinking.
