The Spanish department supports a varied student body, equipping them for advanced Spanish studies at four-year universities while also providing general education courses for non-language majors. The Associate in Arts in Spanish for Transfer Degree ensures smooth transition to junior standing with priority admission to a CSU campus for Spanish or related bachelor's degree programs. Requirements include: Completion of 60 semester or 90 quarter transferable units to CSU, encompassing: (A) Either IGETC or CSU General Education Breadth Requirements (B) At least 18 semester or 27 quarter units in a major/emphasis area as set by the community college. A minimum 2.0 GPA is required, with all major courses completed with a C or better. The degree requires no more than 60 semester units and also facilitates transfer to UC or other bachelor's programs. Students should meet with a counselor to confirm transfer details.
