The AA-T in Philosophy equips students for transfer to California State Universities as philosophy majors through two key approaches. Initially, it familiarizes students with core inquiries across philosophy's principal disciplines, such as metaphysics, epistemology, political theory, aesthetics, ethics, and logic. Subsequently, it cultivates essential critical thinking abilities for addressing these philosophical challenges.
The AA-T in Philosophy equips students for transfer to California State Universities as philosophy majors through two key
approaches. Initially, it familiarizes students with core inquiries across philosophy's principal disciplines, such as metaphysics,
epistemology, political theory, aesthetics, ethics, and logic. Subsequently, it cultivates essential critical thinking abilities for addressing these philosophical challenges.
Graduates of the AA-T in Philosophy receive distinct transfer advantages within the CSU system: guaranteed junior standing admission and priority consideration for both CSU campuses and Philosophy-related programs. Transfer students won't need more than 60 additional units to complete their bachelor's degree. The program mandates completion of 60 transferable semester units, encompassing:
(1) Either the IGETC or CSU General Education Breadth Requirements, plus (2) 18 major-specific semester units with C or better grades, maintaining a minimum 2.0 GPA in all transferable coursework.
