These courses focus on viewpoints, principles, frameworks, and approaches commonly used across the diverse fields of Social and Behavioral Sciences, with special attention to understanding intercultural dynamics among different cultural groups. Learners will explore both their own identities and others' roles within broader social contexts.
Discussion topics will encourage analytical thinking about human responses to societal influences, enabling students to assess how communities and social subgroups function. Acceptable courses include Anthropology, Art, Child Development, Communication and English, Environmental Management, Ethnic Studies, Geography, Human Services, Music, Psychology, Spanish, and Sociology. The Liberal Arts AA with a Cross-Cultural Studies focus provides foundational knowledge for students pursuing bachelor's degrees in social science fields like anthropology, sociology, or cultural studies.
Students will receive the AA Degree in Liberal Arts with Emphasis in Cross-Cultural Studies after successfully completing all required coursework and general education requirements.
