Penn State's Master of Music program offers four distinct tracks, each requiring 36 credits. The Conducting specialization lets you focus on band/wind ensemble, choral, or orchestral direction. Performance students can concentrate on voice, piano, or orchestral instruments, while the Pedagogy and Performance track provides specialized training in voice and piano instruction. Composition/Theory stands as its own dedicated program. These options - Composition/Theory, Conducting, Performance, and Pedagogy and Performance - equip graduates for professional careers as performers, composers, or educators, as well as doctoral studies. Music students enjoy intimate class settings while accessing the extensive resources of a top-tier research institution, including performances by world-class artists.
