This interdisciplinary program focuses mainly on educational psychology, psychology, and special education coursework. It also frequently incorporates classes from counselor education, human development and family studies, educational theory and policy, educational leadership, and curriculum design. The goal is to train psychologists who can deliver healthcare services while being well-versed in educational and psychological aspects within school environments. School psychologists must apply their professional expertise and understanding of children and adolescents to offer valuable insights that teachers, school staff, and parents can effectively implement. Achieving the necessary skills for a fully certified school psychologist demands doctoral-level education at minimum.
Requirements for admission include: a minimum of one-third of graduate credits of A quality; undergraduate GPA of B or higher; satisfactory recommendations from two or more professors, preferably psychologists.
English Proficiency: TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT) - a total score of 80 with a 19 on the speaking section for the internet-based test (iBT); TOEFL Paper-based test - the minimum acceptable score is 550; IELTS - The minimum acceptable composite score for the IELTS Academic Test is 6.5.
