New Ph.D. candidates must successfully complete their qualifying exams before finishing their third semester in the program. Once these exams are passed, students should choose a thesis advisor and assemble a doctoral committee. This committee oversees the comprehensive examination (to be completed by the sixth semester) and provides guidance throughout the student's research journey. Courses with grades below B will not count toward degree requirements. All graduate students must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA to qualify for degree completion.
Students with a 3.00 junior/senior average and with appropriate course backgrounds will be considered for admission.
