Beyond the requirements outlined for our Master's students, doctoral candidates will cultivate the skills to identify and frame research questions, devise appropriate scientific methodologies and experiments to investigate them, and successfully complete their work through a Ph.D. dissertation.
We also anticipate that by graduation, Ph.D. candidates will have achieved specialized expertise in their thesis topic area and possess comprehensive knowledge of related subjects.
Additionally, the dissertation research should meet publication standards and, at the very least, be shared through conference presentations or poster sessions at regional/national scientific gatherings, along with publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Students with a 3.00 junior/senior average (on a 4.00 scale) will be considered for admission to the program. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the program for students.
