Our research addresses critical challenges in power systems and power electronics. In power systems, we study cascading failure analysis, mitigation strategies, and system restoration, along with renewable energy incorporation, HVDC transmission networks, wide-area surveillance and management, simplification techniques for extensive power grids, anomaly detection in PMU data streams, and comprehensive cybersecurity measures for power infrastructure. For power electronics, we concentrate on cutting-edge converter designs, optimized renewable energy utilization, advanced multilevel inverter technology with applications including SST and FACTS devices, and implementation of wide-bandgap semiconductor solutions.
