The Environmental Resource Management (ERM) program is a multidisciplinary, science-driven degree that equips students to comprehend and critically assess environmental challenges at various scales, from local to worldwide. It trains them to develop solutions and effectively communicate concepts concerning environmental and natural resource matters. The ERM program particularly highlights humanity's relationship with nature by concentrating on environmental resource stewardship. The curriculum starts with fundamental courses in biological, physical, and social sciences, then progresses to applying these concepts toward environmental sustainability, featuring coursework in ecological problem-solving, ecosystem stewardship, and environmental regulations. The program's third phase, delivered through three specialized tracks, provides significant adaptability and specialization opportunities.
This degree readies graduates for diverse environmental careers, including roles in consulting firms, government agencies, and nonprofit sectors. It also provides strong preparation for advanced studies in graduate or law programs. Recognizing the broad spectrum of career paths requiring varied academic backgrounds, the program offers three concentration choices: Environmental Science, Soil Science, and Water Science specializations.
