The Bachelor of Arts in Theatre program encourages students to explore theater's historical roots, examine their personal motivations for engaging in theater today, and envision its future possibilities. The curriculum offers diverse coursework in both theatrical theory and practice, starting with foundational classes like Theatre History, Performance Theory, and Play Analysis. Participants gain hands-on experience through Penn State Centre Stage and OffStage productions, working as assistant directors, dramaturgs, and production crew members. Many students take on directing, design, and acting roles within Penn State's vibrant student theater organizations. Among the program's highlights are collaborative projects with globally acclaimed visiting artists.
