The art history program offers students an engaging and well-rounded exploration of artistic traditions throughout history. This curriculum examines various visual mediums - from paintings and sculptures to architecture, design, and decorative arts - while considering their social and cultural influences. Those earning a Bachelor of Arts in art history gain broad humanities training that emphasizes writing skills, public speaking, collaborative discussions, and proficiency in a foreign language. The program strongly recommends international study opportunities for its majors.
This degree equips students with a strong liberal arts foundation, opening doors to diverse professional opportunities and advanced art history studies. Alumni with art history B.A. degrees have secured positions in museums, galleries, publishing houses, arts organizations, visual archives, libraries, archaeological sites, and historic preservation. Careers in academia or museum leadership (such as curatorial or administrative roles) generally necessitate postgraduate qualifications.
