This program focuses on applying scientific and engineering concepts to the development, planning, and implementation of structures and their systems. The curriculum aims to equip engineering students with top-tier training for careers in the building industry. Graduates will be prepared to work as licensed professional engineers across various public and private sectors, specializing in building design, construction, operation, and management, while also developing leadership skills.
The ten-semester program offers four specialized tracks:
the Construction track, concentrating on construction engineering and project management,
the Lighting/Electrical track, focusing on building lighting and electrical system design,
the Mechanical track, specializing in HVAC system design for structures, and
the Structural track, emphasizing building structural system analysis and design.
All tracks incorporate architectural design coursework to help engineering students grasp architectural concepts and their engineering connections. Engineering design courses are integrated throughout the program, culminating in a comprehensive year-long capstone design project.
