This Master of Science in Education program provides eligible bilingual students enrolled in the School Psychology M.S. Ed. program with the chance to undertake supplementary coursework and practical training necessary to qualify for the Bilingual Education Extension (PPS/ADMIN) to New York State's School Psychology teaching certification. Those who choose the Bilingual Specialization gain specialized preparation to deliver school psychological services in both monolingual and bilingual environments. The curriculum places greater emphasis on bilingual/multicultural education theories and practices, along with techniques for offering psychological services in the target language. Participants benefit from interdisciplinary instruction by psychology and speech-language faculty covering bilingual language acquisition and related challenges.
