The School of Nuclear Science and Engineering provides advanced degree programs culminating in Master of Engineering, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Nuclear Engineering.
This graduate program equips students for professional roles harnessing nuclear energy, radiation, and radioactive materials for societal benefit. Nuclear engineering careers play a vital role in advancing public welfare through contributions to energy independence, national security, healthcare innovation, and industrial advancement.
Qualified graduate students may receive competitive fellowships along with research and teaching assistantships. Annual fellowship opportunities are supported by both the U.S. Department of Energy and the National Academy for Nuclear Training. Our institution participates in a select group of eight U.S. universities where students can pursue graduate studies through Department of Energy-sponsored fellowships in Nuclear Engineering, Health Physics, and Applied Health Physics. Additionally, the National Academy for Nuclear Training annually funds fellowships for students entering OSU's Nuclear Engineering and Radiation Health Physics programs.
