Industrial Engineering utilizes scientific, mathematical, and engineering principles to integrate and optimize complex systems. Given the scale and intricacy of these systems, industrial engineers (IEs) require multidisciplinary knowledge, strong interpersonal skills, and a holistic systems approach.
Graduate students in IE master sophisticated techniques for system integration and management. Those earning MEng or MS degrees apply their expertise to evaluate and create facilities, material handling systems, production processes, information networks, and ergonomic workstations. Additionally, they formulate, implement, and supervise strategies, protocols, and computational methods for production scheduling, inventory management, resource distribution, quality control, and supply chain operations.
