The BEE department provides graduate programs for both M.S. and Ph.D. candidates. These programs aim to bridge the gap between life sciences and engineering disciplines. Biological and Ecological Engineering involves applying engineering principles and life-science concepts to optimize and sustain biological resources effectively.
The program features an engineering-focused curriculum with significant life-science components. Coursework covers modeling biological systems, bioconversion and bioseparation theories and applications, watershed analysis, groundwater management, irrigation techniques, water resource optimization, remote sensing technologies, image processing, and specialized instrumentation.
