The School of Nuclear Science and Engineering provides advanced degree programs, including Master of Engineering, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy in Nuclear Engineering.
This graduate program equips students for professional roles harnessing nuclear energy, radiation, and radioactive materials for societal benefit. Nuclear engineering plays a vital role in enhancing public welfare through energy security, national defense, healthcare advancements, and industrial innovation.
Qualified graduate students can access competitive funding opportunities including fellowships, research assistantships, and teaching positions. Annual fellowship programs are supported by both the U.S. Department of Energy and the National Academy for Nuclear Training. Our institution participates in a select group of eight U.S. universities offering Department of Energy-sponsored fellowships in Nuclear Engineering, Health Physics, and Applied Health Physics. Additionally, the National Academy for Nuclear Training annually funds fellowships for students pursuing Nuclear Engineering and Radiation Health Physics at OSU.
