The BEE department provides graduate programs for both M.S. and Ph.D. candidates. These programs aim to bridge the gap between life sciences and engineering disciplines. Biological and Ecological Engineering involves implementing engineering and biological principles along with problem-solving methods to optimize and sustain biological resources effectively.
The program follows an engineering-focused curriculum with significant integration of life sciences. Coursework covers modeling biological systems, theoretical and practical elements of bioconversion and bioseparation techniques, regional water cycle studies, underground water systems, agricultural irrigation, water resource management strategies, satellite imaging technology, visual data interpretation, and specialized equipment usage.
