The Zoology program provides scientific education focused on animal diversity, organismal biology, ecology, and evolutionary processes. The core curriculum establishes a strong base in biological sciences, with elective options enabling students to tailor their studies to particular interests in animal biology. Hands-on experiences like undergraduate research, internships, teaching opportunities, and study abroad programs are highly encouraged, with earned credits applicable toward major requirements.
Graduates with a Zoology degree pursue diverse careers including animal care, museum curation, laboratory animal science, wildlife biology, conservation, and environmental policy. Note that the Zoology program doesn't fulfill prerequisite coursework for veterinary medicine (students should consider the Pre-Veterinary Medicine track within the Biology major instead).
