The apparel design program emphasizes market-responsive and consumer-focused design. This curriculum equips students with professional skills tailored for careers in the athletic and outdoor apparel sector. Program graduates gain comprehensive knowledge in fashion business, creative design, manufacturing processes, and market strategies.
The Apparel Design major (code 400) is a professional degree offered by the College of Business. Incoming students begin as Pre-Apparel Design majors (code 453). The foundational pre-design coursework, completed during the first two years, establishes essential skills for advanced studio-based studies. These prerequisite courses must be finished before students can progress to upper-level design classes. The introductory pre-design curriculum can be taken at OSU or any accredited institution with transferable equivalent courses.
