A chemistry degree serves as a portal connecting scientific and engineering disciplines across diverse fields such as pharmaceuticals, renewable energy technologies, forensic analysis, biomedical research, advanced materials, electronics manufacturing, and environmental studies.
Oregon State University's chemistry program offers an adaptable academic structure with ample exploration opportunities. Students complete a core curriculum in professional chemistry with advanced lab components, then choose from ten specialized tracks - including ACS-certified Track One programs and career-focused Track Two pathways. The department also offers a BA degree option. From their first year, chemistry students receive guidance from accomplished faculty mentors and are strongly encouraged to participate in undergraduate research projects, gaining valuable hands-on experience before entering the workforce.
