The doctoral degree (PhD) is granted to individuals who exhibit comprehensive mastery of their discipline and prove capable of generating novel insights within their specialized area. To earn a PhD, candidates must complete eight post-Master's courses, including five advanced 800-level doctoral courses. Additionally, PhD candidates are required to successfully complete diagnostic and qualifying examinations, conduct sophisticated research under the guidance of an ECE faculty advisor, and produce and defend an innovative dissertation.
