The School of Medical Diagnostic and Translational Sciences provides a cytotechnology program as part of its Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences degree. Students can pursue this as either a first or second degree, or through a post-baccalaureate pathway. Cytotechnologists are skilled laboratory specialists who collaborate with pathologists to identify cellular abnormalities in samples from various body sites, enabling early cancer detection. Their training covers specimen processing, molecular techniques, FISH, flow cytometry, and fine needle aspiration cytology. This intimate program features personalized instruction. Students gain exposure to innovative cancer diagnostics and research advancements.
