The computer engineering curriculum offers a well-rounded engineering education with thorough grounding in the technical fundamentals of computing. The program combines electrical engineering courses covering hardware components with computer science classes focusing on software development. Students progress from learning hardware description languages in their second year to mastering advanced digital circuit design, testing, and synthesis. The ECE department maintains specialized labs in areas including Applied Plasma Technology, Cybersecurity, Communications and Networking Innovation, Microelectronics and Thin Film Devices, Medical Imaging and Analysis, Power Systems Research, Metabolic Physiology Systems, General Systems Research, Photovoltaics, and Computer Vision.
