The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies provides a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy with three specialization tracks: general studies, political and legal studies, and religious studies. This program focuses on teaching analytical reading and reasoning skills, helping students explore, articulate, and refine their personal values and perspectives through inclusive examination of diverse human experiences. Those drawn to religious studies can pursue it as either a minor or a primary concentration. Additionally, through a partnership between the Departments of Women's Studies and Philosophy and Religious Studies, students can earn a dual major in just 57 credit hours - only slightly more than the 48 required for a Women's Studies major with a Philosophy minor. Philosophy majors pursuing this dual degree can apply certain courses toward both majors.
