This program provides students with a comprehensive foundation in philosophical history while developing their skills to critically evaluate arguments in rigorous academic discourse. ODU features three specialized pathways: a general track, political/legal studies, and religious studies. The political and legal studies focus caters to students drawn to social and political philosophy, especially those considering law school. The religious studies path helps students explore religion's cultural significance while broadening their intercultural understanding. A religious studies minor is also available.
