The Master of Science in Business Analytics and Data Science (MS BAnDS) is a STEM-certified program designed to cultivate future analytics and data science experts capable of solving real-world problems. In 2022, Fortune ranked our program 9th among the Best Master's Programs in Data Science, while TFE Times placed it 19th for Master's Programs in Business Analytics. Students gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge enterprise analytics software across multiple platforms, including Alteryx, Azure, Data Bricks, GCP, Power BI, Python, R, SAS, SQL, Snowflake, Tableau, and Tensor Flow - giving them a significant edge in today's competitive job market.

Program Structure
The 37-credit MS BAnDS curriculum (see our Plan of Study for course specifics, electives, and software applications) prepares graduates for roles as data scientists, business/data analysts, consultants, or statistical analysts. In addition to core requirements, students can select from predefined specialization tracks or design a personalized elective path aligned with their professional aspirations. Although structured as a 21-month full-time program, the schedule accommodates flexible 3-11 month internships/externships during the final year of study.

Qualification Requirements

Admissions are decided on a holistic approach with successful candidates meeting the following preferences

GMAT or GRE are required with minimum recommended scores above the 51st percentile in each of the test areas Waivers may be possible for US citizens or for those applying for online program on a casebycase basis Contact the program coordinator with your resume to see if you qualify for GREGMAT waiver
Work experience is considered during the application review process and is strongly encouraged for all candidates
Priority deadline Jan 15 Final deadline March 1 Admissions is for the Fall semester only for oncampus students Applications completed after the final deadline will be considered based on availability for domestic students only
For international students a TOEFL or IELTS score may be required for admission to OSU as indicated by the Graduate College If a TOEFLIELTS is required the minimum TOEFL score for admission is 89 iBT and the minimum IELTS score is 6.5
