The Doctor of Philosophy in Education with a specialization in Language, Literacy, and Culture prepares individuals to investigate literacy instruction within diverse social and cultural environments, foster digital and international viewpoints on language acquisition, and develop specialized knowledge about communication challenges in contemporary society. Our program represents an interdisciplinary academic collective that values the convergence of linguistic studies, literacy development, and cultural understanding as dynamic platforms for education, meaning-making, and civic participation. By implementing culturally responsive teaching approaches, we strive to enhance individual growth, strengthen educational professionals and students, and champion equitable opportunities. Program alumni acquire the expertise to serve as international literacy advocates, academic researchers, educational administrators, curriculum developers for language arts, and higher education instructors.
