Encourage healthy lifestyle choices through evidence-based guidance, mitigate potential health risks by promoting early detection initiatives, and ensure collective safety by implementing foundational health policies. Public health operates on multiple scales, addressing needs from neighborhood-level to international concerns.
Our public health curriculum employs an equity-focused methodology to cultivate skilled, inclusive healthcare practitioners. Students can specialize in either community health or exercise science tracks to align with professional aspirations. These capabilities enable immediate workforce entry or advanced studies across numerous disciplines. Fulfill preparatory coursework (as degree electives) for graduate programs, including medical education. Offered at both OSU-Stillwater and OSU-Tulsa locations.
Community Health
Gain expertise to analyze complex health challenges, foster civic participation, support vulnerable groups, and apply research-driven solutions. The comprehensive wellness education readies graduates to design preventive health programs for various environments (community, corporate, clinical) while providing foundations for advanced studies in public health administration, mental health services, and medical professions. The program also prepares students for the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) certification examination.
