Ohio State has a distinguished history in Social Work, dating back to its inaugural course in 1875 and the conferral of its first Master's degree in 1923. As the nation's oldest continuously accredited public university social work program since 1919, we offer an Advanced Standing Alternative Plan (ASAP) MSW program starting each summer, available both on-campus and online. This accelerated program is tailored for recent BSSW graduates (within five years) who maintain a 3.0 GPA in their Social Work degree and earned at least a B in all required social work courses. Students can complete the ASAP program in three semesters full-time or opt for a part-time schedule.
