The Master of Science program is designed for students focused on the academic aspects of public health rather than professional application. It serves as an ideal starting point for those planning to pursue a PhD later. Given this academic focus, the MS curriculum emphasizes developing expertise in a specific concentration area while mastering relevant research methodologies. To align with this scholarly approach, the program typically includes a thesis requirement. Completing the MS degree involves earning 45-48 credit hours. While there's no practicum component, the thesis plays a crucial role, enabling students to explore a subject of both personal and professional significance while applying the knowledge and techniques gained throughout their studies.
