The Digital Animation and Interactive Media program offers students skilled in animation the chance to cultivate their unique artistic perspectives through multidisciplinary, collaborative work in a research-focused setting. Partnering with the Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD), this program broadens the scope of digital animation by incorporating cutting-edge technologies. We push boundaries in fields like real-time graphics, virtual worlds, performance animation, game design, interactive media, and immersive installations, redefining how digital animation can be applied. These explorations create fresh opportunities for animators to craft impactful content. To earn an MFA in Design, students must complete 60 credit hours, covering foundational design courses, thesis development, and elective options in studio/lab work, historical/theoretical studies, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Each student collaborates with a three-member thesis committee to refine their project focus and determine the most effective approach for execution.
