The Ceramics program within Ohio State University's Department of Art stands as one of the nation's most established, comprehensive, and varied programs. Its legacy features numerous influential ceramic artists from the 20th century. The program team includes two professors, a dedicated studio manager, plus rotating visiting artists and lecturers who engage with students year-round. Within this nurturing setting, every student is motivated to cultivate their unique artistic vision through continuous exploration and dedicated effort. The curriculum introduces students to both classical and modern approaches, while offering opportunities for independent study with visiting artists and faculty across the art department. Regular group critiques with graduate students and professors serve as valuable forums for analyzing creative work and exploring themes pertinent to all artistic practices.
