The Master of Arts (MA) in Art Education is a 30-credit program spanning two years. This curriculum immerses students in modern research and theories within art education. While research-focused, the program provides extensive hands-on experience through coursework and independent research guided by faculty advisors. Participants craft personalized study plans with their advisors, choosing between a thesis or final project, culminating in an oral defense for degree completion. Graduates will gain the ability to: Apply critical analysis, evidence-based approaches, and up-to-date knowledge to examine challenges in modern art education theory and practice, Link educational theories to teaching methods across diverse environments like schools, museums, and community spaces, Design and execute curriculum and evaluations centered on core concepts and key inquiries, and Enhance teaching methods through thoughtful evaluation, data gathering, analysis, and innovative approaches. A baccalaureate or professional degree (or equivalent foreign credential) from an accredited college or university, earned by the expected date of entry into your graduate program. A minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale) in all prior undergraduate and graduate work.
