The U.S. healthcare sector is expanding significantly and has become the nation's largest employer. The Health Services Management and Policy program equips students with knowledge about key elements influencing healthcare policy development, care quality standards, patient protection measures, financial sustainability of healthcare organizations, health technology's impact, and methods for enhancing care delivery. The HSMP faculty comprises renowned experts who are nationally recognized in healthcare administration, policy evaluation, health services investigation, quality measurement and enhancement, healthcare financing, and health economics. This rapidly expanding division is actively hiring additional faculty members to broaden and deepen our comprehensive healthcare knowledge. Current HSMP research initiatives receive support from multiple federal and state organizations, private funders, community partners, and businesses. The connected Center for Health Outcomes, Policy, and Evaluation Studies (Center for HOPES) oversees various practical research endeavors focused on improving healthcare results and service delivery efficiency. PhD candidates receive faculty mentors who offer continuous program guidance. Admission decisions are made by the division, with no need for students to seek placement in particular faculty research groups.
