Students studying global affairs influence tomorrow's world by addressing practical challenges through political analysis, while cultivating leadership abilities and expertise to impact public policy and drive transformation. The program offers four concentrations: international relations and defense, governmental systems and operations, economic policy and growth, and global political theory. Participants must complete four classes in one specialization and at least one course in each remaining field. The Political Science Department additionally provides comprehensive instruction in data interpretation. Learners have gained practical experience through internships with governmental bodies at all levels, legal practices, advocacy organizations, NGOs, and electoral campaigns both domestically and internationally.
Applicant must have successful completion of university preparatory courses, high school performance (class rank or GPA), including participation in accelerated programs like Honors, AP and IB; Ohio State does not have minimum requirements for class rank or GPA, Ability and desire to contribute to and engage with a diverse campus community, Experiences that demonstrate leadership or engaged involvement, Status as a first-generation university student, Demonstration of outstanding talent in a particular area and High school performance if adversely affected by physical, mental or learning environment factors. English proficiency level TOEFL: 79 or higher on the internet-based test, 550 or higher on the paper-based test and IELTS: 6.5 or higher
