This program aims to equip students with essential mathematical skills for careers in industry. It concentrates on mathematical concepts and methods relevant to industrial applications, particularly building mathematical models for real-world problems and the analytical techniques to solve them. Students can choose between two specialization paths: continuous mathematics or discrete mathematics. Classes are scheduled in late afternoon and evening hours to support working professionals. Competitive teaching assistantships are offered for full-time enrollees.

Qualification Requirements

Admission is selective. All applicants who have received a baccalaureate from an accredited institution with a cumulative grade point average or 3.00 or more will be considered. The successful candidate's background should include courses in multivariable calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations, and a knowledge of at least one high-level scientific programming language such as Pascal, Fortran, C, or PL/1. Students admitted without some aspects of the required background will be expected to remedy the deficiency before enrolling in many of the courses of the program.
