The piano program focuses on personalized private instruction, allowing students to discover the vast range of musical pieces written for piano. Students have numerous chances to perform through studio sessions, weekly recitals, concerto contests, and off-campus engagements. Chicago-area competitions also provide performance platforms and monetary awards. Pedagogy courses combine theoretical learning with hands-on teaching practice, working with students across different ages and skill levels. Continuous professional development is supported through faculty evaluations and audio/video recordings. The Bienen School of Music's Music Academy provides on-campus teaching experience for both children and adults through individual and group lessons.
