The African Studies adjunct major equips students with cross-cultural competencies by integrating cutting-edge research from various academic disciplines. This program fosters deep exploration of Africa's historical, contemporary, and future dimensions through a structured curriculum. Designed with dual objectives, the major first ensures students encounter the vast geographical and interdisciplinary scope of African Studies. This foundation requires completion of introductory 200-level courses across key fields like African history, anthropology, literature, and political science, complemented by seven electives spanning diverse subject areas. Additionally, students undertake an intensive research practicum, culminating in a capstone senior seminar where they refine their final research project.
