The Master of Arts in World Languages and Cultures program enhances your understanding of Spanish and Latin American literature, civilization, and cultural studies. Your graduate studies will concentrate on linguistic analysis, translation theory, and practical translation applications while engaging in both theoretical and applied research projects. To graduate, you must successfully complete at least 30 semester hours of graduate-level coursework. Early in your academic journey, you'll need to have your course selection officially approved by the graduate program coordinator.

Qualification Requirements

An applicant whose native language is not English must present an IELTS score of 6.5 or alternatively, a TOEFL score of at least 80 on the TOELF ibt. Normally, to be considered for admission, a non-U.S. citizen shall have completed a four-year undergraduate degree. A minimum 2.75 overall gradepoint average (GPA), based on a 4.00 system, in their baccalaureate program or must have completed 15 or more semester hoursof graduate work at an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.20 or higher.
